NCF Envirothon Oral Presentation Scenario

In the 2021 NCF Envirothon Competition, we were given an oral scenario and two weeks to prepare an extensive solution. Representing South Carolina, we placed third amongst teams from the US, China, and Canada.

The Scenario

We were asked to present a set of Groundwater Rules and Regulations for a specific Bazile Groundwater Management Area (BGMA) in northeast Nebraska to deal with rising nitrate levels in the groundwater. The current sets of rules included four phases, each triggered by a specific nitrate concentration and each with a new sets of regulations. Our solution included an updated version of this phase plan.
